WHAT WAS IT LIKE GROWING UP IN YOUR HOMETOWN? FUN! I got to ski a lot and I did a lot of sports, especially gymnastics and tennis. If it wasn’t for my long, intense background in gymnastics (before I grew to be 5 foot 10!) I would never have been able to ski like I do today.

DOES LAKEWOOD HAVE A SKI/SNOWBOARD SCENE? I never got into the scene until I was in high school and there was a lot of kids that skied. I didn’t even buy a pair of twin tips until I was 18 because it was a new technology!

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO WINTER PARK? My family has been coming here for years, I LOVE the people here, the originality of the resort and RAIL YARD and Dark Territory and I am now stuck here.

 

WITH PARKS LIKE THE RAIL YARD AND DARK TERRITORY, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS NEXT FOR THE YOUNG GUNS? Wow... too much to even imagine, the possibilities are limitless and I’m excited to see what happens!!

WHAT'S ON THE HORIZON FOR YOU IN REGARD TO YOUR SKIING? Learning new tricks and more traveling and competing. Also, I love teaching kids here on the Winter Park Freeride Team (a lot of times they teach me!!! They are so good!)

BEFORE YOU HIT A TRICK, HOW DO YOU PREPARE YOURSELF PSYCHOLOGICALLY? I first always straight air before I EVER spin... then I always imagine my runs before I go so I can get pumped up... listening to good music always helps or having a dance party!!

BACKCOUNTRY IS BEAUTIFUL BUT CAN BE STUPID SCARY. ANY WORDS OF ADVICE FOR THOSE WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT THE JOURNEY? Don’t kill yourself... and know your avalanche safety!
