In 2012, Winter Park Resort will host some of the best terrain park events to help you progress to the next level of competition. From the King of the Grommets, which can give you bragging rights at school, to USASA Slopestyle events that can qualify you for the USASA National Championships, our freeride events support your level of riding.
New this year! King of the Grommets events will feature 3 age classes – 10 and under, 11-13 and 14-15 year old age classes. Riders can battle it out in Re-railer for the podium, prizes and the glory. Next generation park riders have two chances to prove who is King (and Queen) of Re-railer terrain park.
▪ December 28-31: Winter Park Snowboard Team (WPST) Camp
Are you an intermediate or advanced snowboarder that wants to improve your riding in a fun and supportive coaching environment? Then come ride with the Winter Park Snowboard Team (WPST) during our 2nd Annual WPST Camp held December 28-31, 2011! The experienced and dedicated coaching staff of WPST will help you achieve your snowboarding goals, whether you want to learn how to slash pow turns, stomp a 360, air out of the halfpipe, or jib a tech rail! ▪ January 13 – March 16: Friday Night Mini-Rail Jams
Friday night mini-rail jams are the JAM! Each Friday, Bouncer terrain park located in the Village across from Doc’s Roadhouse, is rocking with progression and fun! Youth 12 and under are welcome to take part in this FREE and non-judged rail jam where tricks are called out and everybody takes home some goodies. Registration begins at 3:45pm and the action begins at 4pm until 5pm. Parents are required to sign an event waiver for each participant.

King of the Grommets is open to the first 100 competitors, so pre-registration is highly recommended. Day-of registration, if the event is not full, is from 8-9am in West Portal, level 6 @ the base of WP. Registration cost: $25 for pre-registration; $30 for day-of registration. Reduced price Competitor Lift Tickets are available at registration (12 & under, $32; 13+, $45)

- Feature #1: Rail / box
- Feature #2: Tabletop jump
- Feature #3: Tabletop jump
with 2 medium options (one smaller than the other)
- Feature #4: Rail / box
Format – Best of 2 runs determines final score. Judging will be based on overall impression.
8-9am: Day-of registration and bib pick-up for all registrants
9-10:30am: Course inspection
10:45am: Riders meeting, top of the jumps
3:15pm: FREE WAHOOS FISH TACOS FOR COMPETITORS AT AWARDS!
